Pondicherry University's Directorate of distance education is now inviting online applications to its various courses for the academic year 2021-22. The Directorate of distance education has also introduced 20 new courses from this academic year.
The online admission portal was formally launched by Vice-Chancellor Gurmeet Singh in the august presence of distance education director C K Ramaiah, registrar (in-charge) Amaresh Samantaraya, finance officer (in-charge) D Lazar and college development council dean (in-charge) K Chandrasekara Rao among others.
The new courses that have been introduced this academic year include MBA programmes in marketing, finance, human resource management, international business, general administration, tourism, operations & supply chain management and hospital management. Along with this, four new postgraduate degree courses have also been introduced, i.e; commerce (finance), English, Hindi and Sociology and eight undergraduate degrees – business administration, commerce, English, economics, history, political science, sociology and journalism & mass communication.
Candidates must note that all the courses offered by the Pondicherry University are recognized and approved by the All India Council for technical education (AICTE), New Delhi and the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), New Delhi.
The online admission portal has been launched with the aim to enable students from any part of the country to submit their application forms and pay the fees online.
The DDE is pioneered in introducing the concept of offering degree programmes under the Twinning Programme, by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding with reputed institutions having excellent Human Resources, infrastructure and learning facilities. “Twinning” is an innovative educational concept which widens the scope of educational opportunity and widens the access to classroom teaching for students’ distant locations.
