Govind Singh Dotasra tweeted recently regarding the changes in the minimum qualifying marks, the official notification expected soon.

There is good news for REET aspirants in the coming years. The government has reduced the minimum qualifying percentage in REET exam.  Recently, Govind Singh Dotasra tweeted regarding the changes in the minimum qualifying marks that will be applicable from the next session. The official notification regarding the changes is expected soon.

As twitted by Govind Singh Dotasra, “The government is working on priority on the REET Examination. For this, today an order has been issued to give concession in the minimum qualifying marks for various categories and to make the Board of Secondary Education the nodal agency for this examination. The date will be announced.”

Presently, candidates from general or unreserved category need to score 60 percent to pass RTET or REET exam. ST category candidates from Non-TSP group need to score 55%, while those belong to TSP group need to score 36%. SC, OBC, EWS and MBC category candidates need to score 55%. With the new rule in place, these percentages will be revised to lower percentages.

RTET/REET exam is held for the recruitment of teachers for two different levels, Level I or Primary Teacher and Level II or Upper Primary Teacher. REET qualified candidates are given a qualifying certificate with a validity of three years. The government previously announced 33,000 3rd grade teacher vacancies to be filled through the exam, the recruitment notification is expected soon.
