UGC NET exam dates 2021 will likely be announced soon for the December 2020 cycle (May 2021).
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon announce the UGC NET exam dates for the May 2021 session (Dec 2020 cycle) for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant Professor only. The NTA had earlier postponed the UGC NET 2021 exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic that were set to be held from May 2 to May 17, 2021.
The UGC NET 2021 admit card release date will also be announced along with the exam dates.

The UGC NET 2021 exam will be conducted in a total of 81 subjects. The exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers contain multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates need to attempt both papers in a single duration of 3 hours. The Paper 1 is common for all candidates and comprises 50 MCQs of 2 marks each from general awareness and teaching aptitude. UGC NET Paper 2 is conducted in 81 different subjects. Candidates need to appear for the subject selected by them in the UGC NET application form.
