NTA has started application process for CUET PG 2026 from December 14, which will continue till January 14, 2026 (11:50 PM).
With the CUET PG 2026 application process now underway, candidates preparing for postgraduate admissions can refer to the latest NTA information bulletin and previous year exam structure to understand syllabus framework and exam pattern for the upcoming test.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started application process for CUET PG 2026 from December 14, which will be a computer-based test (CBT) for admission to postgraduate programmes offered by Central, State, private and Deemed Universities and other participating institutions for the 2026–27 academic session.
CUET PG 2026 Syllabus: Subject-wise Framework
The CUET PG syllabus is subject-specific and is broadly aligned with undergraduate-level curriculum prescribed by participating universities. As per earlier CUET PG cycles and NTA guidelines the syllabus generally focuses on:
- Core concepts from the chosen subject or discipline,
- Application-based and analytical understanding.
- Subject-wise units covering theory, problem-solving and conceptual clarity.
- Course-specific emphasis for disciplines such as Commerce, Management, Humanities, Sciences, Law, Education, Social Work and Computer Applications.
NTA in its official notice has confirmed that CUET PG 2026 exam will be conducted for 157 subjects in March 2026. Candidates are advised to check the programme-wise syllabus on NTA website and also refer to official information bulletin for detailed unit-level topics.
CUET PG 2026 Exam Pattern
While exact paper structure may vary across subjects, CUET PG examinations in previous years have followed a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format. Based on previous year pattern:
- Questions are objective in nature
- Each question carries four answer options
- The test evaluates domain knowledge, conceptual understanding and analytical ability
- For some courses, paper may include:
- General or analytical components, along with
- Domain-specific subject questions
Candidates should note that exam duration, number of questions and section structure can differ by subject and should be verified from CUET PG 2026 Information Bulletin for selected programme.
Marking Scheme
As per pattern followed in previous CUET PG examinations:
Correct answers carry positive marks.
Negative marking is applicable for incorrect responses.Â
Exact marking scheme applicable to each paper will be mentioned in the official syllabus and exam guidelines issued by NTA.

Candidates must note that the Language Comprehension/Verbal Ability section is compulsory. The General Test also has to be taken by candidates opting for all test papers except Education (PGQP01).
No, there is no change in the CUET PG marking scheme for the academic session 2025-2026. Candidates will be required to answer 75 MCQ questions that will be asked in the examination in 90 minutes of duration. For every correct answer marked by the candidate, they will get 4 marks and for every wrong answer marked by the candidate 1 mark will be duducted from the marks scored by the candidate.
