CUET PG 2026: Over 200 Universities Expected to Participate; More State Institutions Likely to Join

Although the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released official list for CUET PG 2026, participation number of universities (Centra, State, Deemed and Private) will be similar to previous cycle, with some new state universities likely to join the list.

Each of the participating university will issue detailed admission guidelines after NTA confirms the CUET PG 2026 exam schedule.

As CUET PG 2026 notification is expected anytime in December, universities across country are finalising their admission roadmaps for 2026–27 academic cycle. Based on last year’s participation trend, more than 200 universities, including central, state, deemed and private institutions, are likely to use CUET PG 2026 scores for postgraduate admissions.

Although National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released official list for 2026, participation number of universities will be similar to previous cycle, with some new state universities likely to join the list. In 2025, more than 190 universities accepted scores of CUET-PG to offers admission to postgraduate courses this included 80 private, 53 central, 42 state, 15 deemed to be university and 1 international university.

Central Universities Expected to Continue

Most of the central universities that participated earlier are expected to remain in CUET PG framework. These include names like:

  • University of Delhi (DU)
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)
  • Banaras Hindu University (BHU)
  • University of Hyderabad (HCU)
  • Jamia Millia Islamia (select programmes)
  • Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)
  • Pondicherry University
  • North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU)
  • Tezpur University
  • Sikkim University

Each of the participating university will issue detailed admission guidelines after NTA confirms the CUET PG 2026 exam schedule.

More State Universities Likely to Join

Several state universities have expressed interest in adopting CUET PG for admission to their post graduate courses. Last year saw participation from universities such as:

  • MAKAUT
  • Kumaun University
  • Mahatma Gandhi University
  • Himachal Pradesh University
  • BR Ambedkar Bihar University

This number is expected to grow as more states move towards centralised, merit-based admissions.

Deemed and Private Universities in CUET PG 2026

A good number of deemed and private universities are also likely to continue using CUET PG for selected postgraduate programmes, particularly in:

  • Management
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Sciences
  • Education
  • Computer Applications

These institutions normally announce course specific admission details soon after NTA releases CUET-PG information bulletin.

Official List to Be Released With CUET PG  Information Bulletin

Confirmed list of participating universities for CUET PG 2026 will be uploaded on pgcuet.samarth.ac.in once NTA publishes 2026 Exam information brochure. Students are advised to verify eligibility and course requirements directly from university websites before applying.

Actually yes, faculty of Law BHU accept applicants CUET-PG scores for selection. Candidates seeking admission must a valid score in the national-level examination. 

Q:   What is a good score in CUET PG for DU admissions?
A:

Delhi University has not released the MSc course wise cut off for the academic session . However, candidates can go through the table below for the expected good score in CUET PG examination in order to get the seat in the MSc courses offered by DU.
