NCTE's new teaching courses aim to make teachers competent in order to attain holistic development of students and to strengthen Indian languages. 

ITEP 2025

The National Council of Teacher Education will commence four new Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP) in the subject expertise of Yoga, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Sanskrit across India. In order to ensure the holistic development of the students, the department is emphasising making teachers competent in order to strengthen the Indian language. To attain the goal, new teaching courses are being introduced, including Yoga teachers, Physical Training instructors, faculty for performing and visual arts and teachers for the Sanskrit language. 

As a part of the curriculum, a four-year BA and BEd programme, a one-year BEd program is being offered, allowing students who have completed a four-year BA to pursue one year of BEd.  A one-year MEd program is also planned to be introduced, while part-time MA courses for CBSE and SCERT instructors are planned, as per the details shared during the National Conclave held at Kurukshetra University. 

Pankaj Arora, Chairperson of the National Council of Teacher Education, addressed the audience during the national conclave 2025 on  "Transformation in Teacher Education Towards Viksit Bharat 2047" held at Kurukshetra University. 

While speaking about the ITEP, the chairperson mentioned that the learning outcome requires advancement in innovation, collaboration and dedication. He also emphasises producing high-quality teachers in the changing educational landscape and the requirement to quickly implement NEP 2020 at every Indian institution. 

NCTE aim to implement the new education policy in order to prepare better teachers. The programme requires the development of a curriculum in such a way that can educate teachers and graduates to become job-oriented and creators rather than job seekers.
