“The Ministry of Home Affairs is implementing a scheme called the ‘Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre’ to deal with cybercrimes in a coordinated and comprehensive manner. The Ministry has developed a ‘National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal’ for ease of filing complaints related to cybercrimes by citizens on an ‘anytime, anywhere basis,” UGC said in a statement.

The list of suggestive topics along with the write-up on 'Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas' has been attached as Annexure-I, the UGC statement said.

The state governments will provide the budgets for the same, the statement added. UGC further said that an annual action plan can be prepared for conducting the activities under ‘Cyber Jagrookta Diwas’ on the first Wednesday of every month for one hour from 11 am onwards in online mode (due to pandemic situation).

Meanwhile, UGC has allowed three more Universities to offer full-fledged online degree programmes in addition to the 49 Universities approved so far. Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research, Andhra Pradesh, Lovely Professional University, Punjab and Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Higher Education, Tamil Nadu are the three universities added to the updated list.
