UGC drafts guidelines for environment education at undergraduate level, seeks suggestions by Feb 22

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the draft guidelines and curriculum frameworks for environment education at the undergraduate (UG) level. The Commission has framed the guidelines keeping in mind the importance of making environmental education an integral part of curricula and encouraging environmental awareness and sensitivity towards its conservation and sustainable development amongst students.

The UGC has prepared the draft guidelines and curriculum framework for environment education of four credits, as per UGC curriculum and credit framework at the undergraduate level. The draft guidelines are available on the UGC website and stakeholders have been asked to comment and provide suggestions and feedback on or before February 22. The comments and suggestions have to be sent to the University Activity Monitoring Portal (UAMP) of UGC on uamp.ugc.ac.in.

"New UGC guidelines have helped streamline foreign partnerships for universities The UGC draft guidelines is in line with the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and seeks to cover topics to aware the students about the country’s commitment towards achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs)," UGC chairperson M Jagadesh Kumar said.
