• Candidate’s name

The following branches will be conducted on GATE exam day 2 (February 8, 2026) -

The IIT Guwahati GATE 2026 exam dates are scheduled on February 7, 8, 14, and 15. The exam will be conducted in two shifts -

Yes, GATE has negative marking for MCQs only. There is no negative marking for MSQs and NATs. For 1 mark question, 1/3rd marks is deducted for incorrect response and for 2 marks, 2/3rd mark is deducted for incorrect response. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering examination takes place once in a year. Every year, different IITs and IISc conduct exam on rotational basis. GATE is conducted online for three hours for 30 branch papers. 

Last year, 936019 candidates registered for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering out of which 747319 candidates qualified for GATE 2025. 

To download, it is important to check internet connectivity first along with a compatible browser (Google chrome/Mozilla or Microsoft). The process to download hall ticket online are as follows -

• Checking of admit card and ID proof was done thoroughly 
• Valid ID proof and photo in admit card were verified properly
• Students were allowed to carry a transparent water bottle
• Also, students were allowed to carry pen and pen for rough work
• Each applicant were given a system to attempt exam. If there was any technical error, they had to inform the invigilator mentioning the issue. Considering that, a new system was provided and the exam timer resumed from where you’ve left
• Scribble pad were provided inside exam hall. Students have to write their name and once the sheet is completed, it has to be returned to invigilator. Only one scribble pad is provided to applicant. Each scribble pad has around 10 pages to do calculations.
