Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked colleges to train its teachers so that they can make people aware of COVID-19 in an effective manner.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all the colleges, university and educational institutions in the state to train their faculty members so that they can help in making people aware about the coronavirus in an effective manner, said Awanish K Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Talking about it, the Chief Minister said that while it is important to train our doctors and paramedics, teachers should also be trained regarding this.

He said that Additional CMO level officer should be made the training-in-charge.

He also emphasised on training those who are connected to basic, technical and vocational education department. In every district, they should be appointed as the master trainers, Awasthi said in a statement.

The idea behind the training of teachers is that the trained persons will create awareness in the public about COVID-19 in a more effective manner.

He has also directed that trained National Cadet Corps (NCC)  should be deployed at quarantine centres. "All migrant labourers coming from other states should be medically examined before being sent in a quarantine. Trained cadets of the NCC should be deployed at quarantine centres," he said.

The chief minister has asked officials to come up with an action plan to be implemented for industrial activities after May 3.

The effective implementation of the lockdown will have to be ensured, he said.

On April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the extension of nationwide coronavirus lockdown until May 3 with some relaxations, as a preventive step to contain further spread of this deadly virus.
