The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Chairman Brij Raj Sharma has assured candidates that he will look into their concerns of getting failed in SSC CHSL 2018 Tier 2 paper, due to the new UFM rule.

After receiving several complaints from the candidates who were marked failed despite getting good marks in the SSC CHSL 2018 Tier 2 paper, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Chairman Brij Raj Sharma has assured to look into the matter.

"Due to the new Unfair Means (UFM) rule, many of the students have got zero marks. In this regard, the department has received several complaints from the aspirants who had appeared for the SSC CHSL Tier-II text of the Combined High Secondary Level 2018. Once the lockdown is uplifted, the department will look into the matter," Sharma said.

On February 25, the commission had announced the SSC CHSL result for the descriptive type paper (Tier-II). Since the announcement, several students have come forward to a complaint regarding wrong marking done under the unfair means rule.

What is UFM?

If the candidate does not adhere to rules set by the SSC he/she will be awarded zero marks.

What are the rules under UFM?

  • If the candidate does not stick to the format of the letter, in that he/she will be awarded zero marks
  • If the candidate writes his/her name at any place in the answer sheet or signs on the invigilator's column, the candidate will be given either zero marks or his/her sheet will not be evaluated.
  • Writing information other than mentioned in the paper will lead to zero marks.
  • Candidate cannot write his/her real or imaginary phone number, address in the answer sheet. If done, he/she will be marked zero.
  • If the candidate crosses a word limit by 10 percent while writing an essay, he/she will lead to a loss of marks.
  •  Rough work or putting stray marks on the sheet will lead to zero marks.
