Mystory@Rakasi Pallavi Reddy: How I chose my course and college
Course selection after 10+2 is difficult for every one! One of the main dilemmas that every student faces is whether to give preference to college or course. One advice is to give preference to course because that is what you are goingto study for the next three or four years. Choose a subject that appealsto you and truly motivates you. Most students switch their stream during college. I was confused between BSc are BCom but zeroed in on BSc [MSCS] from Shiddartha Degree College For Women.
My advice to all students is to look out for positive reviews about the college and courses, in fact you can take advice from websites, friends, and relatives. Finally, I’m very happy having selected this course and the college with positive reviews, and taking the decision with a calm mind.
How I cracked college admission
This is a very important question to me. Currently, education is a big issue in the whole world. If I complete my studies, for me it opens a new window. I got complete guidance from my sister. Though the idea of joining a college is quite exciting, the process of getting admission is not easy. Each college has its own elaborate and extensive admission process. Some colleges conduct entrance exam, some take interview and some hold examination as well as interview. I didn’t attend any coaching classes and I was not trying out for any other college.
What I gained from my college experience
College is a time for self-discovery, meeting new people, and deciding the adult you want to be. It should be fun, freeing, and educational. My favourite subject was English. It’s really helped my logical abilities and use of my knowledge to solve problems in a variety of ways. Extra-curricular activities are critical component of our college application, it helps impress the college and reflect our interests and skills. I wanted to increase my inner talent through participating in several events and programs and gain exposure.
The faculty or the lecturers in our college teach us not only what’s prescribed in the books but also several other topics which we can relate to in the external world which is more important now-a-days. The talent needs to be developed not only through reading books but also being practical. These extra-curricular activities become very important later, such as when you are applying for job they help you hone your talents, interests and passion.
First of all, my college has given me a chance to sharpen my skills in my field of my choice. There have been and there will continue to be many opportunities incollegeto learn more ways of improving my craft. I consider my time in college as my most valuable experience. I’m truly thankful to this college. Now-a-days exposure in small colleges is negligible where they only expect to earn money but not the actual industrial experience. Many colleges are busy in just growing their business through making money.
