The decision would be based on your interest areas and long term career plans. If you want to pursue a career in finance /accounts then CPA is a better option. However, if you want to move into general management / other areas then MBA would be better.

MBA entrance exams happen between November to January & 3 to 4 months sincere preparation is enough. So, you should start preparation while you are in your 5th semester. Joining coaching center also helps, as they guide you on the question pattern and also help you sharpen some techniques of solving mental ability questions.

It is better that you talk to the college administrators regarding this. A discontinuation of the course means you might not get the degree of M.Com.
