A database management system 'DBMS'; is a computer software application that interacts with the user, other applications, and the database itself to capture and analyse data. A general-purpose DBMS is designed to allow the definition, creation, querying, update, and administration of databases. DBMS can be used to manage transactional databases, such as HR systems, banking systems and so on.There are following two good career options available in DBMS field:
(a)Database Developers: are responsible for planning, managing and maintaining database management systems. If you do any of Computer Science or IT graduation degree, you will able to get skills to be database developer as part of degree syllabus in RDBMS course. There are multiple computer education/ training institutes which offer courses on Database development. Once you have basic knowledge after undergoing course, it is advised that for a good career as Database developer, you can work to get certification such as Oracle Certified Associate: PL/SQL Developer.
(b)Database administrators (DBAs): use specialized software to store and organize data. The role may include capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.
