Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering are two different fields of study at the Manipal Institute of Technology. Aerospace Engineering covers aeronautical and astronautical aspects, while Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of Engineering that deals with machines and devices. MIT is a good college when it comes to placements for Mechanical Engineering students. Approximately 70-80% of students normally get placed with an average salary package. On the other hand, when it comes to Aerospace Engineering, only 50-60% of the students got placed. The fee structure for BTech in both the sub-streams remains the same

Hello Dhanush, I am afraid that at present there is no mechanism through which one can shift from one state to another after having taken admission for Diploma in engineering. You will need to resign from seat and apply afresh in your intended state. Best wishes to you.

There are various reputed engineering institutes that accept the 50-60 percentile in JEE Main. One need minimum 50 % in most of the cases for aerospace engineering. You can search about top 10 colleges for aeronautical engineering. Also you can use Shiksha predictor.

You can do M.Tech with introductory scale degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical. Still grounded on experience. Better you opt for mechanical engineering at the undergraduation stage to have better understanding of subjects.

Make sure you have a tailored resume and good project idea*
There are a lot of divisions in NAL, find the one which is relevant to your project idea and get the contact details of the HOD. Email the HOD about your project idea and ask for a possible face to face meeting for further discussion. Based on the reply, meet up and convince that the project idea is helpful for NAL and that will fetch you the internship. *If you don't have any project idea, look up for the current projects of your interested division in NAL and you can come up with an idea based on those projects. There are a lot of divisions in National Aerospace Laboratories, find the one which is relevant to your project idea and get the contact details of the Head of the Department. Email the Head of the Department (HOD) about your project idea and ask for a possible face-to-face meeting for further discussion.
