Aerospace Engineering is all about aircrafts, rockets, and spacecrafts also. It is a very big field. Basically there are four sub branches in aerospace engineering in which you can specialize. Aerodynamics, structures, control systems and propulsion. So as per you interest that you'll develop while you will be completing your degree you can chose one and specialize in that field. Talking about employment opportunities, I would say that there is not much scope (there are but not at a very large scale) in India. You have to be really good at whatever you are pursuing and you'll land up getting a good job in that field. You can always apply in foreign countries wherein you can get good and highly paid jobs, but then there are people who will nag you about the same. If you get a job of your profile and a decent enough salary in India why would you ever go out of India. The highest package offered to UG students was INR 2.14 crore per annum and for M.Tech, it was INR 46.08 LPA. The median package offered to MS and M.Sc. Students was INR 15 LPA and INR 14 LPA, respectively. Further, the IIT Madras the highest package recorded for M.A. And MBA courses was INR 22 LPA and INR 25.30 LPA, respectively.
