Cabin Crew is one of the good career option as it offers good career prospects and excellent growth opportunities not only in India but across the globe.
If you fulfill necessary requirement for the profile then selection is possible, however full job assurance is a myth as it is not only the qualification that allows selection but also the physical, mental and educational criteria that need to be met.
Eligibility:
-Physical requirements - Height for Air Hostesses - minimum of 157.5 cm and Flight Pursers 163 cm with proportionate weight.
-Graduates in the age group of 19-25 years for training. Preference is given to Degree or Dipl

Cabin crew is made up of flight attendants as well as the purser, one who is typically a senior flight attendant but also has additional duties. Some airlines make a bigger deal about the purser and that this is a title or rank above "flight attendant". "Cabin Crew" is a generic term used to refer to all of the airplane's crew who are not working in the cockpit , I mean the "back in the cabin".
Air hostess is the term used to refer to the female cabin crew/Flight attendant.

Hi Payal,
Air Hostess, Flight Attendant, Cabin Crew, Flight Steward and Flight Stewardess are all synonyms of one another.
There is only a very secondary difference i.e.:
- Cabin crew/Flight Attendant - The total no. of airline serving on board,responsible for the customer service, safety procedures, embarkation, disembarkation etc
- Air hostess/Flight stewardess - The female cabin crew on board.
- Air steward - The male cabin crew on board.

The cabin crew has one of the most promising careers in the aviation sector. The cabin crew are a combination of air hostess(Fem,ales) and air stewards(males). The ratio of selection of stewards against that of air hostess is generally 3:7. So in a crew of 10 you would expect 3 stewards and 7 air hostess.
India currently has 5,100 pilots, of which 600, or 11.7 per cent, are women, according to ministry of civil aviation data. There are a total 130,000 pilots in the world, of which 4,000, or about 3 per cent , are women, according to the International Society of Women Airline Pilots.

The requirement of certificates/degree or qualification of any sort entirely depends on the Profile and Industry that you wish to pursue.
The basic eligibility for aviation industry at large is at least a graduation in any field. In some cases one needs to have some qualification to be able to fulfill the job responsibilities and Increase chances of selection. However, in majority of the Airlines it is good enough to have a basic Graduation and basic requirement of Height, Weight etc. You can directly go for an Interview.
