Focus on the 12th board exam and clear with a good percentage. After the exam finds out the list of good mass communication and journalism colleges/institutes in your city or nearby cities from which you can pursue your dream career. To become a news anchor you have to first complete the basic education in mass communication like B.J. M. C. B.A. In Mass Comm, etc. While studying also looks for an internship in a media company. I completed my mass comm degree from NIMCJ, Ahmedabad which is the best college in Gujarat for mass communication providing best job placements in top media companies.

Hello Shashank,
After pursuing Masters, if you want to go for the above mentioned TV news anchor, then I would suggest you to go for Diploma in Anchoring or join internship in any Media House. Work on yourself like knowledge about Current affairs, Language command, Communication skills etc. Thank you.

Hello Monika,
Opting Bachelors programme in any such as language, journalism, mass communication or, performing arts, etc. Getting degree in a related field will be good. If you want to establish a best career than remember two things first just work upon your skills, language and communication, polish them and secondly go for a degree course.

Hello Shefali,
The companies visit the college to hire a student. Secondly, you can work upon your skills, language, and personality and apply for the anchoring in media houses or for the channels. Initially, you can start with the local or district channels if you don't find the recognised one. Here, in this field two things matter the most - talent and experience. So, don't worry about that work upon all your necessary skills. Apply for the media houses. Apart from this, you can pursue a certificate course in anchoring or you may also pursue performing arts course. Thank you.

Hello Srinivas,
PG Diploma is considered equivalent to a post-graduate degree, however, even by many, it is not included as a degree course. It is a Diploma course. MA is a post-graduate degree. Moreover, journalism and mass communication together is a wide topic that will cover all the aspects. It is not just limited to journalism only. You will have more options (other than a journalist).

PG Diploma in journalism from a reputed institute like IIMC, Symbiosis, Xavier's, etc. can get you a job in a TV news channel. Work either in the news desk or as a reporter for a while. Once you know people in the channel, you can express interest in anchoring. Practice anchoring and give a screen test.

Hi,
Yes, you will be eligible to become news anchor, although only a few channels offer the post directly. Freshers have to work as reporters or in box offices first.
