Although the prerequisites for animation degrees vary from college to college, the general eligibility for Mumbai's Animation colleges are as follows:

  • Candidates must have completed their classes 10 and 12 from an accredited board.
  • Candidates must have passed their class 12 exams with passing grades in any stream to be considered eligible for animation schools in Mumbai.
  • A minimum grade of 45–60% is required for graduation in order for candidates to be considered for admission to postgraduate colleges.

The Diploma Certificate course offered by institutes like Arena, MAAC, Framebox etc. Don't look at your grades. But, universities that offer a full time degree might. So, if your interest is to join the university, try them first and if you get admission then all good. If you don't get admission try doing a degree equivalent course in one of the above mentioned institutes.

In the last 20 years, several thousands of 10th passed students have studied animation course but they are all Diploma or certificate courses.
