Yes, why not? It is better to pursue animation after 12th only because you will get more time to enhance your intelligence in that field and overall you have to spend more than 6 Lacs for 3 to 4 year course.

I would suggest you to go for a mass communication course instead both of this as it will teach you both about film-making and graphic designing. From there, you can get into either of the fields.

You can probably help the family to under the scope of pursuing this course. Do your part of research and make them understand the same.

More than which field you study, what you do outside the field in your free time matters. Hence for a good career, you require a very good portfolio. Portfolio encompasses all your projects and things you've worked on. Companies offer you internships and jobs based on that.
