In order to seek admission in Masters in Architecture degree course candidates must have passed B.Arch or its equivalent as approved by Council of Architecture with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. B.Tech Civil grads are not eligible for MArch in majority of Institutes. However, the School of Planning and Architecture, provides specialization options for meritorious civil engineering graduates in its M.Arch. program and related fields.

1) Government Sector: Planners are employed by Development Authorities for making Master Plans, Land Use Plans and Development Plans. Apart from Development Authorities there is Town and Country Planning Department known as TCP department under state government.
