Army Institute of Technology operates its BE counseling independently from the standard Maharashtra state processes. Although state colleges run MHT-CET registration until mid-July, this institute follows its own timeline. Aspirants must apply directly to the college website rather than using state portals. The seat allotment concludes early so regular engineering classes can start on time.

Army Institute of Technology maintains a transparent merit system and offers no management or NRI quota for BE seats. No candidate can buy a seat through donations or high-fee structures. Every seat is given out based strictly on the rank obtained in entrance exams. This policy keeps the academic quality of the peer group exceptionally high.

Army Institute of Technology does not participate in the standard JoSAA or CSAB center rounds for its BE course. The institute runs its own independent counseling portal to manage applications. Students must track notifications directly on the college website instead of central engineering portals. This separate process handles defense documentation verification much more efficiently.

Army Institute of Technology requires specific defense paperwork alongside standard academic certificates for the BE application. Candidates must upload their 10th and 12th mark sheets to verify eligibility. They also need to provide the JEE Main rank card. Most importantly, a Parent's Service Record Certificate signed by competent military officers is required. Discharge books are necessary if the parent has retired from active army service.

No, the Army Institute of Technology (AIT) BE programme is not generally considered as prestigious as BITS Pilani or VIT Vellore. While AIT is highly respected for its exclusive defence ward student population, rigorous academic culture and strong placements, BITS Pilani remains a top-tier institute, and VIT operates on a much larger, globally recognised scale.
