Doing petroleum engineering from abroad is indeed a good idea as it opens the door for opportunities not only in India but also in the country where you plan to complete your course. Having said that, you also need to evaluate the involved costs associated with the course. You can expect tuition fee in excess of Rs.20 Lakhs for a two year course in Australia. If you are cost conscious then Canada is better else go for the US. Having said that both the countries require 16 years of education for Masters course. So make sure you have 16 years of education. Additionally you need to appear for GRE (+300 score expected) and IELTS/TOEFL (6.5+/95+) and ideally should have a good academic background (preferably 60%+ throughout)

You can opt for MBA or master degree any of these country. Australia and Canada are student friendly as they allow you for an extra year once you complete your study.
