B.E. / B.Tech candidates need to qualify 10+2 in Science stream with PCM as compulsory subjects. M.E. candidates must have an undergraduate level engineering degree in the relevant or allied discipline. All candidates must attend the counselling session conducted by the university / institute as applicable.

The quality of food in the hostel mess at AVC College of Engineering is generally considered satisfactory by most students. Hostel mess food is likely average and sometimes lacks necessary flavours. AVC Engineering College was established in Tamil Nadu and has been reputed for its academic performance, particularly in the B.Tech/ M.Tech streams.
