Academic requirements for MBA:
The first and foremost eligibility requirement to apply abroad for an MBA is to have completed a basic Bachelor's level graduation degree. This could be an engineering degree B.E. / B.Tech B.Sc. B.Com B.A. or in any other discipline. A Master's or doctoral Ph.D. degree is also fine. A full-time degree from a reputed university is preferred. However, some MBA colleges may also accept correspondence and distance education. The primary evidence that you will submit to prove your credentials are your academic transcripts. These include semester-wise marks for each subject that was covered in your degree. You may also be required to appear for an international exam like the GMAT or GRE which is crucial for admission to top B-Schools abroad, and language proficiency tests like the IELTS or TOEFL, if required. Unlike a 2-year MBA in India, MBA colleges abroad expect students to have had substantial exposure to the working world. In fact, they expect not only technical skills (that are easier to gain in junior roles) but also managerial skills (like team leading, planning, coordination). Both BBA and B.Com offer similar career prospects. If you are willing to do an MBA, then BBA might be a better option, but in real life, it hardly makes any difference. But if you want to become a chartered accountant, CS or CFA then B.Com will be a better option for you. Even if you do BBA, you can still pursue the above courses but then things will be comparatively tough. As a course, BBA focuses more on the practical aspects whereas B.Com focuses more on theoretical aspects. In fact, 75% of the syllabus of BBA matches with that of B.Com. In BBA, things are a lot more interesting, similar to an MBA, so you'll keep learning new things every day.
