The regular BEd is of 2 years in majority of the states. It may exceed from 3 to 5 years for integrated educational progrsm depending on candidates's choice

The State CET Cell releases the exam pattern and syllabus in the official notification. For the 2026 session, it hasn't been released yet. The expected format for BEd exam in Maharashtra is
- 100 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
- No negative marking
- Time: 90 minutes
- Mental Ability: 40 Questions.
- General Knowledge: 30 Questions.
- Teaching Aptitude: 30 Questions.

For the 2026 session, the IGNOU BEd admission dates hasn't been released yet. It might exeed for some programs.

The IGNOU BEd counselling begins after the IGNOU BEd entrance exam result declaration. The merit list is released based on which the candidates had to report with the required documents and fees at the chosen centre.

Yes, an IGNOU BEd degree is fully valid for government jobs in India, as IGNOU is a Central University recognised by UGC and DEB, and its degrees are treated as equivalent to regular degrees for all major government exams (UPSC, SSC, Teaching, etc.), provided you meet specific subject/marks criteria and NCTE guidelines.

Yes, Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts the IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam every year in March. Candidates who wish to complete BEd from IGNOU must clear this exam. The application form will be out in January.
