Just review your attitude and interest where it has inclination, either it is towards preceding a career as a teacher or how to become a manager in any Agri Business firm. India is a agrarian country and by looking at the demand of agricultural graduates decent job placements will not be a problem. Agriculture is a research oriented programme where you can do a lot of research on soil, vegetable, fruit, floriculture landscaping entomology, plant breeding. Thus, scope is more towards Masters of Science in horticulture. There are three specialisations in Masters of Science horticulture:
1) M.Sc. Horticulture (Fruit Science).
2) M.Sc. Horticulture (Vegetable Science).
3) M.Sc. Horticulture (Floriculture and Landscaping). There are other Agricultural specialisation also:
#1 Agronomy. #2 Plant Breeding. #3 Plant Molecular Bio-technology. #4 Pomology and Olericulture. #5 Entomology, Plant Pathology and Soil Science. Curriculum in LPU is as per the guidelines of ICAR (Indian Council of Agriculture Research) and is designed to train students to understand ways of improving the crop production in a sustainable manner and to provide overall knowledge related to agriculture. The demand for Post-graduates with a degree in agriculture is increasing every day in India and abroad. Course fees for 2 years PG programme is also considerably lower in comparison to other Agriculture colleges while rewarding with good jobs and a better packages. Infact one of LPU student has got the package of Rs 1 Crore per Annum. All the best.
