Yes, and after B.Sc if you want to become primary teacher, then go for B.Ed, or if you want to become high school teacher or lecturer, then pursue a PG course and Ph.D, and then clear the NET exam.

Every branch of Science needs at least basic level of Maths. So, even in geology you need at least basic knowledge of mathematics. And, the rest depends upon you college whether it is mandatory to opt for Maths or not. So, please contact the admission department of your college for further details.

Hi Manasvi,
Yes, you would have to clear government exams to get government jobs. Exams such as SSC, PCS, UPSC etc. To name a few are needed to be cleared in order to get government jobs. You can detailed information from the Shiksha site about what government exam is conducted for which post. Good luck.

B.Sc+M.Sc+Ph.D (BT) is a science stream course available in all major arts and science colleges whereas B.E. / B.Tech. +M.Tech+Ph.D. (BT) is an engineering course (more applied) which is to be pursued in an engineering college/ technical university. Career prospects are different. Option: 2nd is better, but costlier than the earlier one.
