B.Sc animation and VFX are 3 years' duration courses.
Bachelor of Design (B.Des) course in animation is a 4-year course. The four years course includes 2D, 3D, VFX, etc. The difference between the two degrees is that the B.Des course is not only 1 year more but offers usually an international syllabus, which is completely focused on Animation only. Few of the top colleges are Artemisia College of Art & Design, MIT, Pune, NID, Ahmedabad (the top in the country), etc.
While selecting college, consider factors such as the fee, whether the faculty has animation industry experience or not, whether the college has facilities such as its own animation production studio, whether the college teaches classical animation (base of all kind of animation) or not, etc. availability of equipment such as Light boxes, etc. should be there.
