DY Patil School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics has a placement cell that works closely with students to assist them in obtaining jobs in their desired fields and preparing for placement interviews. The institute has concluded its placement drive for the batch 2022, and a total of 56 UG and 89 PG students were placed during DY Patil School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics placements 2022. However, the institute has not released its 2023 placement details as of now. The Department of Biotechnology at Dr. DY Patil Arts, Commerce & Science College is committed to offering advanced pedagogical and hands-on training in different areas of biotechnology, and graduating students have consistently been hired into premier research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, clinical research, agricultural, bioinformatics firms, bioprocess corporations, food & beverages industries, etc. Internships are provided, and opportunities for students to gain experience in their discipline, determine if they have an interest in a particular career, and create a network of contacts are given due importance.

The fee structure for DY Patil School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics is as follows:

1. B.Tech: 2.3 Lakhs (1st Year Fees) for B.Tech (Integrated M.Sc) program, which is a 4-year program. The eligibility is 10+2 with 50% marks.

2. M.Sc: 1.3 Lakhs (1st Year Fees) for M.Sc in Biotechnology program, which is a 2-year program. The eligibility is graduation with 50% marks.

3. B.Sc (Hons.): 1.25 Lakhs (1st Year Fees) for B.Sc (Hons.) in Biotechnology program, which is a 3-year program. The eligibility is 10+2.

4. Certificate: 21,000 (Total Fees) for the Certification in Plant Tissue Culture Technology program.

Admission to the BTech programme at DY Patil School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics is based on the scores of a recognised national-level/state-level entrance exam. The School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at DY Patil Deemed-to-be University is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The eligibility criteria for the BTech programme in Biotechnology at Dr. DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, which is affiliated with DY Patil School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, requires the candidate to have Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Life Sciences, and English (and desirably Mathematics) at the CBSE, ISC, HSC, or an equivalent examination. Candidates who have registered/appeared for JEE 2022 or equivalent with a valid score can apply for the BTech programme in Computer Science and Design at Dr. DYPBBI, Pune, which is affiliated with DY Patil School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Admission to all courses, except the BTech and MSc Integrated program, is merit-based. Admission to the BTech and MSc (Integrated) Biotechnology is done based on marks obtained by the student in the entrance exam conducted by the institute.

The DY Patil School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics accepts entrance exam scores for admission to its B.Tech and M.Sc programs. The entrance exam for B.Tech consists of 100 objective type multiple choice questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology) . The admission for B.Tech is based on the merit score obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the university. Similarly, admission to the M.Sc programme is based on the scores obtained in the last qualifying examination. The recognised national and state level entrance exam scores are accepted for admission to the institute. The specific entrance exams accepted by the university include JEE – Main, MHT – CET, NEET- UG, and DYPCET.
