Biotechnologist is not a medical doctor (MD). Biotechnologists usually hold degrees in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, molecular biology, or related fields, but they do not have medical sciences.
The educational background and focus of a biotechnologist involve the application of biological and molecular techniques in areas such as research, industry, and the development of new technologies.

Hi
No, you cannot do M.Tech in food tech as the requirements are completely different. There is no Masters+PhD (food proc) programme in any college as Ph.D requires clearing UGC NET exam. You should pursue M.Tech CS which will give you better packages.

If you are asking about the salary, then you must keep in mind that the situation is similar to that of the engineering field. The starting salary depends upon your qualification and field of work. If you go for basic biotech industries, salary is very low as compared to biotech pharma/biopharma companies. A wide range of salaries starting from 15K pm to 40K pm are common in this field.
