To pursue genetic engineering you should take PCB and you are advised to write some entrance exams like JEE Mains, VIT , SRM, etc. in order to get a good college for biotechnology and genetic engineering.

Biotechnology is a rapidly developing field. Many private businesses are exploring this field and heavily investing in it. It is safe to say that there are ample job opportunities for B.E./B.Tech biotechnology graduates in private sector. Government sector too offers job opportunities. Average starting salary is generally between 2.4 to 5 LPA.

Both are good but different from each other as if you have a knowledge of computers then you go for CSE and trust me it has a bright scope in near future. But if you are a biology student then biotechnology degree is perfect.

You have not mentioned your qualifications. 10/ 12? It's quite normal to have doubts in our lives. Different things attract us at different times. But definitely time comes when one feels passionate about a subject. You need to ask yourself which subjects do you like and what ignites passion in you.
List it down. Then see in which you have proficiency. Go for it.
