For being eligible to get admission in this course, you should have either bio/biotechnology in your class 12th. Maths is not required. But, when you will study biotechnology you will use mathematics for various calculations, not hard core but simple to moderate one like algebra equations, volume etc.

The difference is that biotechnology studies and covers microbiology and others area of Science, but microbiology does not study biotechnology. Biotechnology also applies the knowledge and tools of other sciences such as genetic engineering, in order to generate some product or benefit; Medicine, food, enzymes, detergents, plant improvement etc.

Hello,
You should pursue biotechnology instead of environmental Science, as this has better scope and mainly if you can get genetic engineering branch. JNU has been in the news from a long time and you can see there is no study environment.

No, NIT Suratkal doesn't offer B.Tech Biotechnology course and any of the B.Sc. Courses. If you want to pursue Biotechnology, then you have to go with other top institutes present in Karnataka.
