Both these courses are completely different from each other and have their value in their respective fields. It depends on your area of interest, which course you opt. B.pharma is comparatively easier of the two.

Quite well if planning for RESEARCH. I would rather say its the best field if one wishes to go for higher studies. B.tech at NIT-W would definitely help you build a firm base for further studies. Coming to the Placements, recently, the number of companies visiting the campus are quite considerable. Most of the students sitting for campus interviews are placed. But the scales are not that high for B.tech Biotech graduates as they are for graduates of other fields. Make a wise choice that would serve your expectations well. Best wishes :)

Scope wise , in my opinion Biotechnology is a flourishing subject but I cannot guarantee how much popularity it will find for itself in India. But surely all the subjects you have mentioned do have scope somewhere or the other. Choose something you'd love to study, and then find for jobs you'll enjoy.

If you are planning to go for higher studies in Biotechnology, then your choice is definitely the BEST. It has a world wide recognition and also provide scholarships like EUPHRATES and HERITAGE through which you can go abroad for a year during your B.tech course. It has an excellent teaching staff who are quite friendly and helpful compared to other department faculties. But, if you plan to have a Rs.12 Lpa job immediately after B.tech then your expectations would not be served well. Overall its a great and cool stream and you would really enjoy doing Biotechnology at NIT-W. Best Wishes.

The salary structure for BS holders may range from on $30,000 to $60,000, these figures are subject to change. Hope it helped.
