School of Broadcasting and Communication is not a university, but a college. This college is affiliated with Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, which has a solid reputation in this field. As far as whether it's good or not, that's a difficult question to answer. Different people will give you different answers. I personally find the syllabus informative and I like the balance they have of education and promoting work experience. Hi Palash,
It is arguably one of the best media institutions in the country.
- Only reputed media school which offers and focuses only on media related courses rest all colleges in India just have a branch for mass communication and not much importance is given to the course nor the students.
- Affiliated to Makhanlal Chaturvedi National university of journalism and communication which was started by late Shri Rajiv Gandhi. Which is a university which again focuses only on media related courses and not a university which has hundreds of courses and out of which one would Be mass communication.

Dear Anjali
You start your journey either from BA English hons and than do Journalism from well known university or you can start from BJmc programme. According to me you should go for English hons and improve your creative writing to bcz in the desire field person not only good communication skills but also with creative writing skills having advantage too. And in college time you should participate in debates and anchoring opportunities that will give you experience and confidence too

To become a news anchor, show host, analyst or a TV reporter, you need to have a bachelor's degree in mass comm, English, political science, psychology etc. You need not do a specific diploma or degree. The basic requirement are excellent inter-personal capability, very good oral and written communication, objectivity, determination, familiarity with video and digital cameras and mobile broadcasting equipment, ability to use social media applications and database programs such as Microsoft Access and FileMaker Pro. A good voice and pleasant personality is obviously a fundamental requirement.
