Brown Indian Students' Association is a student community that celebrates a rich culture of India through food, festivals, dance, and discussion. ISA fosters community, connections and cultural exchange by creating spaces to explore Indian history, traditions, and contemporary issues. So, students can take part in Holi and Diwali celebrations. They can also take part in cultural nights and movie screenings. Additionally, there is one South Asian Students Organization that welcomes members of Brown University who are of South Asian heritage.

International UG applicants at Brown University can apply via Common App. Students must complete the Secondary School education for admission to UG courses. On the other hand, for admission to PG courses, the applicants are required to have a Bachelor's degree. Additionally, an English language proficiency score has to be submitted too. From Fall 2025, Brown University has planned to become need-blind for all Undergraduate international students. This move is a part of the ongoing commitment to admit students irrespective of their ability to pay for tuition, and to ensure the sustainability of financial aid initiatives for future generations. Brown University meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need of the students. This university does not offer merit-based scholarships. However, students can avail any external-based scholarships.

This OPT STEM extension allows students who have completed a degree in a STEM programme field to extend their work authorization for an additional of 24-months, and a total of 36-months, and gain further practical experience.
