From Fall 2025, Brown University has planned to become need-blind for all Undergraduate international students. This move is a part of the ongoing commitment to admit students irrespective of their ability to pay for tuition, and to ensure the sustainability of financial aid initiatives for future generations. Brown University meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need of the students. This university does not offer merit-based scholarships. However, students can avail any external-based scholarships.

This OPT STEM extension allows students who have completed a degree in a STEM programme field to extend their work authorization for an additional of 24-months, and a total of 36-months, and gain further practical experience. International students must adhere to the following admission process to get into Brown University:
Student must find a course that fits with their qualification and interest. Once they decided, they should check the basic eligibility and requirements of the program.
They can apply via Common App for uG programs, and via the university portal for PG programs. They need to submit transcripts, letters of recommendation, statements of purpose, English language requirements, and more.

There is no specific work authorization is need. International students with F-1 visas can work on-campus. International students are restricted to work up to 20 hours a week. However, international students can work more than 20 hours during their Winter and Summer breaks.
