IIT Bhilai accepts admission based on the scoring in JEE Main and JEE Advanced entrance exams. There is no other provision for admission. It is compulsory for students to take the JEE Main exam. Candidates who secure a valid rank in JEE Advanced further need to take part in the JoSAA counselling for seat allotment.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority conducts JoSAA Counselling for candidates seeking admission to BTech courses. Candidates who qualify JEE Advanced 2023 are called for the JoSAA Counselling 2023. JNU BTech cutoff 2024 was concluded after the released of JEE Main Round 7 Seat Allotment Result. As per JNU BTech cutoff 2024, the closing rank for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering was 33509 and for BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, it was 47591.
