IGNOU offers MSc (Mathematics with Applications in Computer Science) (MACS) course and the eligibility criteria is given below. Eligibility criteria : Graduates from a recognised University/Institution with a Major, or Honours in Mathematics with at least fifty percent marks in aggregate. If the seats at the centre remain vacant then: Graduates with BA./BSc degree with Mathematics as one of the three main subjects with equal weightage, securing at least 50 percent marks in aggregate and 55 percent in Mathematics will be considered. So from above B.Tech Computer Science students are not eligible for this program.

As per my experience I would say that yes, Maths forms an integral part of Engineering. You will be studying Maths during your initial two years after that opting for maths is your choice. I had same concern during my initial days of engineering, But I am glad to say that faculty at my engineering college,i.e. Lovely Professional Uniersity, helped me a lot and Maths became one of the easy to handle subject for me. Curriculum at LPU is designed in such way that it even caters the basics of any subject. Faculty are at help when ever you need them.
