ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh is pretty good for B.Tech because it offers AICTE approved programs-under CSE and Civil engineering. The placement percentage ranges around 50-60%-with package ranging between 3-5 lacs with companies like Infosys and Wipro being the recruiters.

The students who have passed out say that the faculty here is better than 3.5 out of 5 but say that the infrastructure is not at par with NIT Hamirpur. Fees are reasonable-again, around 4 lakh-which perfectly suits local students, although not the best.

The B.Tech faculty of ASTU is very knowledgeable, with most of them holding M.Tech/Ph.D. degrees. The student satisfaction index awards these faculty 3.8/5; highly commended in CSE and Mechanical. Faculty actively participate in workshops and collaborations with industry, engaging with the curriculum supported by AICTE. Some students have also suggested the need for more visiting professors. The faculty-student ratio provides mentorships for 200+.

The average package of the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) is INR 3-5 LPA. Recruiters such as TCS, Wipro, and Oil India hire predominantly for IT and engineering roles, with the highest packages going to INR 8 LPA. Placement is 50-60%. As per reviews by students, there were good opportunities provided, but not as many high-paying as compared to NITs.

The full fee for B.Tech at ASTU would be around 4-5 Lacs INR (4 years, 1-1.25 Lacs a year). Other expenses include around 50,000 hostel fees, plus exam fees.

Compared to private institutes like Tezpur University, where the B.Tech fee is INR 6 lakh, it's quite affordable. Even student reviews declare it to be cost-effective for programs which AICTE has approved.
