Hi. Yes, you can apply for universities and colleges in Canada with 5.5 band given you fulfil these conditions:
Take CanTEST
In some universities or colleges, for those who do not meet the required minimum IELTS score will have to take the CanTEST after arrival at the college. English as a Second Language (ESL) programme
In case the student is unable to pass the CanTEST, they will have to register in the St. Clair College English as an ESL English as a Second Language) programme prior to entering post-secondary programs. Submit MOI

You can prepare for GMAT GRE TOEFL. There are some countries where you can pursue MBA at low cost or free. Foreign MBA is worth if done from reputed universities like Stanford, Oxford, INSEAD or if you are getting fee exemption. Most of good foreign universities require some work experience. So you can prepare for CAT/ GMAT for 1-2 year along with job and than do MBA from b school of repute. An MBA is worth time and money if done from a good b school.
