For people like me who haven't yet chosen relevant career interests, biotechnology is a better choice because of the numerous prospects it offers. It is easier to go into forensic Science or Marine Biology or Pharmaceutical Studies or Environmental Sciences with Bachelors in Biotechnology rather than Microbiology.
