Both CLC DU and NLSIU Bangalore are good choices for Law, however NLSIU does not offer LLB based on CLAT and instead requires a separate entrance exam or NLSAT-LLB.

As such even though NLSIU Bangalore is ranked the top or 1st Law course by NIRF 2025, if one has already completed UG in another field and missed the NLSAT LLB doing an Integrated LLB would require a large and unnecessary time investment.

One can still appear for NLSAT LLB during the next admission cycle but depending on one's timeframe CLC DU or other National Law Schools of India are also great choices.

No, for the General AI category students, the CLAT Round 1 cutoff saw a drop in the closing ranks, i.e. 1141, as compared to last year for admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)  courses. In 2025, the first round closing rank for the same course was 1278 in the General category. The drop in the cutoff rank this year indicates high demand for the BA LLB (Hons) course of NLU Patna.

The CNLU Patna is an excellent choice for students interested in Law especially recent High School graduates who are looking to enter in the Law stream due to its 5-year Integrated Law courses which have been approved by the Bar Council of India and accredited by the NAAC with a B Grade.
