It is a very good college which gives BE degree.chemical engineering is an evergreen subject. faculty is very good with a high profile lab alongside.So first year would be very exciting.
Course detail
Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering is four years (8 Semester) full-time undergraduate engineering program offered by Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara with the approval of UGC. First year of chemical engineering classes will start with in 2nd week of august.

I think you cannot get a seat in SASTRA through merit, you can try for NRI seats.

It will really depend on how the university evaluates the application profiles, how competitive they are and how your overall profile is. Your grades are not all bad. The absentees can be justified. Very good recommendation letters and a strong personal statement will be required.
