GIBS considers exam scores as an indication of a candidate's suitability for an MBA program, while GIBS also evaluates applicants' overall scores (percentile scores) rather than section cut-offs. Applicants who achieve the minimum cut-off (60–65 percentile) will be invited to participate in the next round of selection processes. The Institute of Management, in comparison to other institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta, looks at the overall percentile rather than implementing sectional cutoffs. As such, GIBS has a more flexible admission process and does not exclude potential applicants who may have performed poorly in one section of the CAT, provided they still meet the overall percentile requirement.
