IT sector and very few have received core branches and relevant roles, but almost 90% students get placed with average of 4 LPA. Notwithstanding the withdrawal of offers by the e-commerce and software companies, Anna University got off to a bright start to its campus placement drive as three students have received offer letters for Rs 28 Lacs per annum, surpassing last year's the highest offer. The campus placement began last week in the university. IT majors like Microsoft, Adobe and Samsung R&D have recruited university students for pay packages of around Rs 20 Lacs per annum. Last year, Code Nation, a software developer from Bengaluru offered the maximum salary of Rs 24 Lacs per annum for two student.

The only drawback with this college is that they fail to provide with 100% batch placement.
Considering the placement report of 2016 of Anna University in mechanical branch almost 75 students got placed while 10% student went on for the further studies abroad. Some of the companies that make round during placement season are:

Although the seats are limited, teaching faculty for Engineering Physics is excellent in the IITs. The placement record for this engineering branch is also good in the IIT Madras. After finishing Engineering Physics from one of the IITs, scholars have immense job opportunities. Selection in IIT placements means a job in best companies and excellent remuneration package. Engineering Physics degree holders from IITs are evolved in research and development activities. They are usually hired by different industries like telecom, microelectronics, lasers, and micro-devices, etc. This a searchable branch, so you always have an option of higher studies.

Aerospace start-ups and consultancies in the country come for placements too. CFD and FEA profiles are well in demand. Flight mechanics, controls, combustion and thermal engineering also come up occasionally. However, IIT-Kanpur is a bit different from most other IITs in terms of academics. Our grading system goes 10, 8, 6, 4, 2. In most other IITs it is something like 10, 9, 8, 7 That automatically means that if the professor doesn't think you deserve A, you get 8 in IITK and 9 in most other IITs. This worsens as the grade drops to C or D. This puts us at a disadvantage. Also, it is said (I can't verify this) that IITK was built more around research and thus they have higher standards and expectations. As a result, academics at IITK are considered tough.

Talking about the IITs, all IITs placement ratio will also increase or the packages will increase because IITs are the top most Engineering Institute world wide so many companies will take part in campus placement at IITs for quality engineers.

IIT-Kanpur is the best since inception, it has offered near 100% Placements for Aerospace students and 20% of them already have PPOs. Moreover, average range for Aerospace goes from 8 to 20 LPA and hence, makes it an attraction for various students. The college offers state of art Faculty plus best Infrastructure to maintain quality education. With IIT madras, the internships provided here are very minimal for this specialisation specifically and The Placements for Aerospace is bit mediocre since, not all students get exact core opportunities in Defense, aeronautical space, hence, does not have edge over IIT madras.
