Check below the list of documents required for "UDAAN Scholarship at NIFT Kannur:

• One self-attested passport size photograph with signature 
• Income declaration-affidavit (Format- B) on non-judicial stamp paper of 10 (Rupees Ten) by each parent.
• Proof of permanent residence.
• Photocopies of Passport and PAN card of parents / guardian and applicant. However, in case the student /parent/ guardian does not possess PAN Card and/or Passport, then an Affidavit may be taken from the student to that effect.
• School leaving certificate for class X and XII (Proof of school fee, wherever possible).
• The copy of receipt of tuition fee paid for the current semester i.e. July – December. vii. Schedule (Format -C details of agricultural land and property, etc.) duly signed by parent with relevant revenue record.
• Bank statements for the last 12 months for all the accounts mentioned in Schedule (Format- C).

NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The exam is conducted once every year and it consist of two parts, i.e, first one is, written exam and second is, situation test/personal interview.

• Written Exams - It comprise the GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only BDes and MDes candidates need to take the CAT. 
• Situation Test/ Personal Interview - BDes candidates who get shortlisted have to appear in the Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. The only exception is BFTech program, where the admission merit list will be prepared solely based on GAT scores.    

The FINAL score of NIFT 2024 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

The scores or merit rank of NIFT will be considered for admission to design courses offered by the NIFT participating institutes. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer the following courses - BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFTech, and MFM courses.

The college has not released the placement report for the current year. However, as per annual report,  NIFT Kannur recorded 81.82% placement rate and 126 students placed (which includes PPO and off campus) placement 2023. However, as per Shiksha review, the highest package offered to BFTech students was INR 9 LPA during placements 2023.

NIFT Kannur BDes admission process is entrance-based. The candidates are admitted based on their scores in the NIFT Entrance Exam. More details about each of the stages in the admission procedure are provided below:

Step 1: NIFT Kannur BDes Application Process 2024

The National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur application process is a completely online procedure for all courses and candidates need to register themselves by visiting the official website of NIFT. Candidates need to follow the steps mentioned below to apply:

Step 1.1: Go to the official website of NIFT and click on the admission tab.

Step 1.2: Click on Registrations for Admissions-2024 from the drop-down menu.

Step 1.3: On this redirected page, click on the "New login" tab.

Step 1.4: Begin with the registration process by entering all the details, such as name, DOB, desired programme, etc.

NIFT Kannur is a government institute. It has a great infrastructure and is equipped with great facilities, well-equipped design studios, a well-stocked library, computer labs etc. It has been ranked 16 for Fashion Design by Outlook in 2019 and holds a good placement record as well. NIFT Kannur offers a BDes programme with a duration of four years in four specialisations. Candidates are required to appear for NIFT Entrance Exam and are accepted on the basis of merit. The last round closing rank for B.Des in Fashion Design was 1279 for the General All India category students.
