The cutoff for BMS College of Engineering is very high. For the KCET 2023, the overall cutoff for the college was 841 - 1998 rank. The cutoff for different courses varies, but it is generally in the range of 800 - 2000. For example, the cutoff for Computer Science was 1179, while the cutoff for Civil Engineering was 1499.

BMSCE has been placed 83 in the 'Engineering' category of the NIRF Rankings 2022. Reputable rating organizations, including India Today, The Week, Outlook, and the NIRF, have given the institute high marks for its B.Tech and MBA courses.
