There are lateral entry admissions in Mechanical engineering branch for which you can apply along with other applicants. If selected you'll be directly admitted to the second year. For additional information regarding admission, you can visit www.manipal.edu.

As far as I know Manipal is better than VIT, but there are pros and cons with every University. There are things such as publishing research paper and stuff in which VIT is better than Mainipal, but in many aspects Manipal is much better than VIT as far as Academics and extra curricular activities are concerned.

The first session is better than the second. The student will get fresh knowledge and new updates in the first session. The curriculum is designed based on the new trends and the first batch will be the first session students. This campus has trimester and the students are getting good placement Package each and every year from this campus. So, your decision to join Christ is good and a lot of opportunities are awaiting you if you join the first session.

For NIT-K, I would say a minimum of 50-55% to get selected for the 2nd round. However, note that, GMAT or CAT scores are weighted at 70% in calculating the overall score for the final selection. So, problem with the low score is, it will haunt you even after getting a call for GD and PI based on your application. Higher the marks, better is the chance to get a seat. Else, for GD & PI, 50-55% should be good enough.
All the best.

See and judge a college on following parameters:
1) ROI
2) Future orientation
3) Placements
Please talk to the students of the concerned college. Find 10 students from the stream in which you want to take admission. Rank doesn't matter.
