The grading system here is relative grading .
Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) follows a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) system for evaluating student performance. The CGPA is calculated based on the grades obtained by a student in individual courses or subjects over a specified period, typically a semester or an academic year. Here's a general overview of how CGPA is calculated:
Grade Points: Each grade received in a course is assigned a specific grade point. The grade point scale may vary between institutions, but it is commonly on a scale of 10. For example:

Marks Deduction. This deduction can impact the overall grade or evaluation of the course as here in case of relative grading every marks counts

If a student fails his internal exams at SIT then he/she will have to do certain assignments or give certain tests in the next semester to clear the internal backlog .
Usually, we have a system of n internals for n credit subjects which is distributed well in form of written test, mcqs, courses etc. so as to give students a proper chance to clear the internals even if they missed one

If a student misses an internal exam at Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI) due to medical or genuine reasons, they will be given an opportunity to retake the exam. However, it's important to note that this can impact their final grade, so it's best to avoid missing any exams if possible.

Symbiosis has its own boys and girls hostel service to provide accomodation facilities to students on campus .
However, apart from that, there is not much of hostels or PGS in near vicinity .
You have a hostel in a 5 min radius to college but most students prefer not to stay there because of its location .
Then you have the options to stay in stanza which is also a good accomodation service, other than that, hostels and PGs are a bit far away from college, students usually perfer to rent flats in the buildings nearby .

Admission to the B.Tech programme at Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) is generally based on the performance of students in national-level entrance exams like JEE Main, MHT-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test), or Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET). The cutoff scores for these exams may vary each year, influenced by factors such as the number of applicants and the availability of seats.
Usually for securing a seat in the computerSciencedepartment the cutoff is 80-82 in the SET exam .
For the IT department cut off is 74, for electronics it is 70, for mechancial it is 62 and for civil it is 60 as per by cut offs of 2022.
