The selection process for MBA courses is simple, Thapar University evaluates the candidates' scores at the graduation level and according to that the university will release the merit list. Additionally, candidates must have studied Mathematics in their Class 12 and graduation level, the university assesses the complete academic record of the applicant before granting a seat in the programme, because the university has a limited number of seats for the MCA programme.

Thapar University MCA total tuition fee is INR 2.55 lakh. Apart from the mentioned tuition fee, candidates are also required to pay a one-time fee of INR 23,000, including admission fee and institute security fee. The hostel charges are up to INR 2.36 lakh. Yes, a two-year postgraduate MCA degree course is available at Thapar University. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Deemed-to-be University) offers an MCA programme for two years. The PG-level course is offered in a full-time mode. Admission to the TU is completely based on merit i.e., evaluated based on candidates' academic performance and scores in their graduation. The minimum eligibility criteria required by the university for MBA admission is candidates must secure at least 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate. Mathematics must be studied at the Class 12 level or the graduation level.

Yes, Thapar University follows a seat reservation policy for MBA courses according to the authorised government's seat reservation policy. The seats are reserved for the following categories, such as SC/ST, North Eastern, J &K migrant, NRI and 50 % Punjab Residents. Thapar University does not offer MBA seats through management quota, one has to follow the complete admission procedure and eligibility criteria to get admission to MBA courses.

The highest package offered during MBA and MSc Data Science & Management placements 2025 was 25.86 LPA and 28 LPA. 

Earlier, during 2024 placements, the highest domestic package stood at INR 28 LPA. Students also managed to grab international offers with the highest international package of INR 58.52 LPA. Earlier, the highest package offered in 2023 was INR 36.25 LPA. Looking at the past three years' stats (2022 to 2024), an improving trend was recorded in the highest package. The table below represents the IIM Amritsar the highest package trends:

Total Semester tuition fee for B.Tech Biotechnology is INR 1,50,900 and development fee & other charges are INR 68,000, making the total semester fee INR 2,18,900.

To take admission at Thapar University, a candidate must have passed the Class 12th or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in an aggregate of three subjects, namely, physics, chemistry, and biology. 

And the admission is based on the candidate’s performance in the NEET examination, followed by a counselling process. 50% of the seats will be filled based on NEET scores, and the remaining 50% will be filled based on merit of marks
